The Nott Group has the in-house experience and expertise to deliver a variety of remediation solutions from simple dig and dump to complex and innovative technologies depending upon the site and contamination issues.


The Nott Group is authorised by the Environment Agency to treat contaminated materials, substances and products, for the purpose of remedial action. This includes land or controlled waters using the following technology and associated plant necessary to facilitate the remedial action:

  • Groundwater pump and treatment
  • Free-phase product skimming
  • Air-sparging
  • Screening and waste reduction
  • Bio-sparging
  • Bioventing
  • Soil flushing (including steam injection)
  • Soil washing
  • Solidification
  • Stabilisation
  • Soil Vapour Extraction (including dual phase SVE)
  • Excavation, re-use and disposal (Materials Management Plan)
  • Chemical treatment (including oxidation, dehalogenation)
  • Bioremediation – in-situ and ex-situ (windrows, bio-piles, in-vessel bioreactors)
  • Thermal treatment (including thermal desorption and steam injection)
  • Treatment plant for blending, mixing, bulking, screening, shredding, particle size reduction and/or particle separation in order to facilitate remedial action
  • Validation of remediation and monitoring
  • Regulatory negotiations, approval and sign-off
